Mulberry’s School, in conjunction with the Terrebonne Parish School District, will be sponsoring “Red, White, and Blue Day” on Monday, September 11

Students may begin bringing $1.00 to school and wear red, white, and blue shirts, shorts, pants, socks, etc. on September 11.

This is a day to honor the men and women who are still in harm’s way defending our freedom. The proceeds will benefit the Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana #2, a non-profit organization, who send care packages to deployed troops around the world.

Thank you for your support!

This year’s Consolidated Drive proceeds have been dedicated to flood victims in Texas.  The Terrebonne Parish School District will assist the children and families of Staff Sergeant Lucian Adams Elementary School in Port Arthur, Texas.  The school is PK-5 and has 700 students.  Many of the families of this school are currently living in shelters and the entire school community has been devastated by the flood waters of Hurricane Harvey.

The Consolidated Drive will begin Tuesday, September 12 and end Friday, September 22, 2017.  The proceeds will be used to provide shoes, school uniforms, school supplies and other necessities.

Mulberry’s school community participation will be greatly appreciated by the students of Staff Sergeant Lucian Adams Elementary School.

As you may be aware, our school has experienced the death of a fifth grade student, Michael Boyles.  The Mulberry school community is deeply saddened about the loss of this kind-hearted child.

Students will have varied reactions to the death of a peer. I encourage you to openly discuss with your child their reactions and feelings regarding this situation. Counselors from other schools within the district were at Mulberry today to provide additional support to our students and faculty.

This is a very difficult time for the Boyles family, so please keep them in your thoughts. A “Go-Fund-Me” account has been set up in Michael’s name by the family.

If you think your child needs additional counseling support, please do not hesitate to contact Misty Robichaux, our school counselor at (985)872-5328.
